The Master of Arts in Biblical Studies is a two-year, full-time, residential degree program. This is an advanced degree for those who have already completed the nine-month School of Biblical Studies (SBS). This program gives the student an opportunity to study the Bible in the original languages of Hebrew and Greek, as well as to gain an understanding of church history, theology, and practical ministry skills. The program is designed particularly for equipping teachers of the Word in the developing world.

Pre-requisites:

  1. Discipleship Training School (DTS)

  2. Nine-month SBS

  3. Bachelor’s degree in any subject

OR–

Two years (minimum) on SBS staff + A.A. degree from the UofN + commitment to serve two more years on SBS staff after graduation.

Quarter topics:

  1. Introduction to Academic Writing, Church History, and Systematic Theology

  2. Greek Grammar and Readings in the Greek New Testament

  3. New Testament Exegesis

  4. Hebrew Grammar and Readings in the Hebrew Bible

  5. Old Testament Exegesis

  6. Practical Ministry Skills

Dates: The program begins September 28, 2020 and ends July 13, 2022. There will be an 11-week break between year 1 and year 2.

Accreditation: Please note that while we are working toward meeting the requirements for accreditation with the Asia Theological Association (ATA), this program is not yet accredited.

Cost: The cost will consist of the standard UofN fees (see below) plus an additional fee of 9,000/- (INR) per quarter. Fees do not include the cost of textbooks, which will be the responsibility of the student.
